Faizal Rahman said while Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain had urged Wahab to come forward to assist in the probe, his client was concerned that he was being “looked for” by two groups of people at his house.
“One group claimed to be plain-clothes policemen, but they refused to show their authority cards,” Faizal told FMT.
“The other group claims to be from a political party. Both groups are suspicious,” he said, adding that their true identities remain unknown.
The clip of a man resembling former J-Kom chief Agus Yusoff having a purportedly indecent conversation with Wahab was widely shared online following speculation that Agus would step down from his post.
The police are investigating the video, which both Agus and Wahab say was doctored.
Agus said he had revealed to the police the identity of the person behind the video clip – one “Mr H”.
He also lodged a police report over a video clip by blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin which exposed his initial police report and revealed his personal information.
Faizal said Wahab would not lodge a report over the groups that had approached him pending the police probe into “Mr H” as well as Agus’ second report on the leak of his original report.
