
Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said the team comprises officers from the state’s criminal investigation department, Bernama reported.
“The parents will be called in to have their statement taken in the near future,” he was quoted as saying.
Earlier today, Hussein confirmed that they were investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
He also said a post-mortem had revealed injuries to the boy’s neck and body.
Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin’s body was discovered near a river, just 100m from his apartment in Damansara Damai here, last night.
He had been reported missing on Tuesday.
Harian Metro reported that Zayn was laid to rest at the Muslim cemetery in Seksyen 9, Kota Damansara, at 7pm.
Some 200 family members and close friends as well as Petaling Jaya police chief Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid, attended the funeral.
