PETALING JAYA:
Shoppers at a Puchong mall waded through ankle-deep flood waters after a heavy downpour inundated parts of the shopping centre.

Some of the cars at IOI Mall’s open car park were also affected by the flood. Video clips of the flood were widely shared on social media.

The Subang Jaya City Council issued a danger warning for the mall at 6.46pm, and advised road users to plan their journey and take an alternative route to avoid the area.

Residents of the surrounding areas were urged to take precautions and be prepared to be evacuated if instructed to do so by the authorities.

Separately, seven houses along Jalan Wawasan in Puchong were vacated after a landslide occurred in front of one of the homes, Bernama reported.

Selangor fire and rescue director Wan Md Razali Wan Ismail said the landslide involved a 50m-wide area.

“The landslide damaged a car parked in front of one of the houses but no casualties were reported,” he said.
