However, the search for her four-year-old daughter continues, Bernama reported.
Serdang district police chief AA Anbalagan said the body of the 38-year-old woman was found at 12.17pm by the search-and-rescue team at Lombong D’Island near Taman Lacattage, Putra Perdana, 10km from the site of the incident.
“The victim’s identity has been confirmed by her husband. The search for their four-year-old daughter is ongoing,” he said.
The incident occurred around 5pm yesterday. The couple and their three children were fishing at the monsoon drain when strong currents suddenly swept them away into a river nearby.
The husband, 40, and the couple’s nine-year-old son managed to save themselves.
The body of their 10-year-old eldest son was found about a kilometre away.
Anbalagan said the man had been staying in Malaysia for nearly 10 years, doing odd jobs to support his family.
He had visited the location several times to fish using his net and the catch would be sold to earn extra income.
