This was confirmed by the consul-general of Malaysia in Songkhla, Ahmad Fahmi Ahmad Sarkawi, Sinar Harian reported.
“Both victims only suffered minor injuries and they are from Kelantan,” he was quoted as saying.
Fahmi said the victims were aged in their 20s and 30s.
The foreign ministry later confirmed that both of them received outpatient treatment at the Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra Hospital and were discharged today. It urged Malaysians in the vicinity to stay vigilant.
Wisma Putra confirmed that the explosion occurred at a safety zone checkpoint in Tha Phraya Sai at 9.35pm.
