KUALA LUMPUR:
Two policemen have been arrested on suspicion of extorting a food delivery rider on the Shah Alam Expressway (Kesas) near Bandar Puteri, Klang, on Tuesday.

The incident occurred at 1am when a food delivery rider was on his way to a customer, Harian Metro reported.

It is understood that he was stopped by two policemen on patrol duty who discovered that his road tax had expired.

The policemen are alleged to have demanded that the rider hand over RM1,000.

However, the man reportedly did not have the amount and the policemen allegedly took his watch and RM90 instead.

Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan confirmed that a report had been made, adding that the duo in question have been detained.

“The two policemen are stationed at the Klang Selatan police headquarters. A case has been opened under Section 384 of the Penal Code for extortion,” he said.
