PETALING JAYA:
The police have denied that the personal belongings of the late singer Nidza Afham Mokhtar had gone missing as claimed after his body was discovered on the Sungai Klang river bank on Wednesday.

Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan urged the public against issuing statements based on unverified information. “The family of the victim has not filed any report on missing items either,” he said in a statement.

Nidza’s sister Afrina Hanie Mokhtar was reported to have said that the police believed his disappearance is connected to a robbery case due to the loss of a debit card and cash.

Nidza was reported missing on Tuesday evening after he left his house with a rideshare service, heading towards Sultan Suleiman Stadium in Klang for a jog. His body was found under a bridge the next day.

Yesterday, Bernama reported that the police had not determined whether the singer’s death was the result of a criminal act.
