PETALING JAYA:
A 30-day-old baby boy was found unconscious and later pronounced dead after he was bottle-fed at a confinement care centre early yesterday morning, police said.

Kota Bharu police chief Rosdi Daud said a report was received yesterday morning regarding the incident, Bernama reported.

“The incident happened at 5.30am yesterday at a confinement care centre in Kota Bharu.

“The infant was taken to a private hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead,” he said in a statement today.

A nurse at the confinement centre, who is in her 20s, was detained at 6pm today, he added.

He stated that she would be brought to the magistrates’ court tomorrow morning for a remand application, and the case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.
