KUALA TERENGGANU:
Thirteen horses branded with the logo of the controversial company Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings were found at an equestrian facility in Kuala Nerus that was raided yesterday, a religious official said.

Aizi Saidi Abdul Aziz of the Terengganu Islamic affairs enforcement division said the police told him the logo was on the horses’ forelegs.

The equestrian centre, in Kampung Mengabang Panjang, Kuala Nerus, was raided by police yesterday. It is situated in front of a walled luxury beachside bungalow believed to be rented by followers of GISBH.

“I went there again today but could not go in as it was locked. I was told that they rented the place. The horses were no longer there and there is no information yet on who took them,” he told Bernama.

Aizi said he was informed about a message on the facility’s wall, warning the authorities of retribution in the afterlife following actions against them. “They consider us enemies for disrupting their activities although we are merely seeking a solution,” he said.

He said the department had identified several premises in Kuala Terengganu, Kuala Nerus, and Setiu which are believed to be associated with GISBH.

“Previously, there were raids by authorities, including one involving a hostel in Kuala Terengganu, but we still have no information on whether it is a charity home housing children of GISBH followers. The hostel was empty,” he said.

Aizi said the department would present its report to the Terengganu Islamic religious council tomorrow.
