
Azalina said the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission received 8,067 reports involving enforcement agencies from 2020 to September this year, with 4,972 classified as corruption-related.
“Of these, 1,192 investigation papers were opened, resulting in 485 prosecutions and 238 convictions,” she said in a written reply to Nurul Amin Hamid (PN-Padang Terap).
The remaining 3,780 non-corruption related complaints were dealt with through “intelligence and operational” measures. She did not specify what this meant.
Separately, Azalina said 104 investigation papers have been opened regarding smuggling cases involving enforcement officers caught by MACC since 2018.
She said 154 arrests were made and 54 prosecutions were initiated.
