PETALING JAYA:
Police have arrested eight individuals, believed to be football fans, in connection with a brawl at the Bandar Tasik Selatan LRT station on Dec 21.

They included two men initially arrested on Dec 24.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Rusdi Isa said all of them have been released on police bail after their remand order ended.

“We have referred the investigation to the deputy public prosecutor,” he said in a brief statement today.

On Tuesday, two men, aged 22 and 24, were arrested at their homes in Kuala Lumpur and Seri Kembangan.

They are being investigated under Sections 147 and 427 of the Penal Code for rioting and causing mischief.

Cheras police chief Aidil Bolhassan said police received a report from an auxiliary policeman at the station over the incident, which included acts of vandalism.

A video clip of the incident had also been widely shared on social media, with netizens condemning the behaviour of the football fans, especially for vandalising public property.
