It was previously reported that Malaysians were among those involved in the crash, which claimed three lives.
In a statement, the foreign ministry said the Malaysian embassy in Stockholm is actively working with Norwegian authorities to determine the total number of Malaysians who were on board the bus and to provide the necessary assistance.
It said passengers with minor injuries were relocated to crisis centres at two nearby hotels.
“Four Malaysians have been confirmed to be staying at one of the hotels,” it said.
“However, due to ongoing investigations, these passengers have not been allowed access to phones or direct communication with anyone.
“The hotel staff are also restricted from initiating contact with the passengers.”
The ministry said the investigation, coupled with severe winter conditions, including heavy snowfall, strong winds, and the considerable distance of about 1,500km from Oslo, has posed significant logistical challenges in accessing and supporting the affected individuals.
It said that despite these challenges, it remains committed to assisting the Malaysians involved and will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as new information becomes available.
