Rapid KL to increase on-demand transit van routes

PETALING JAYA:
Rapid KL will be expanding its on-demand transit van service in four areas in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya from Feb 1.

Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd, the operator of the transit van service, said the four routes are Taman Desa-Jalan Klang Lama, Bangsar LRT station-Taman Bandaraya, Taman Genting Setapak-Setapak, and Putrajaya Sentral MRT station-Presint 11.

In a statement, Rapid Bus said its on-demand service would connect commuters to bus and rail routes at intervals of about 10 minutes.

Users can book the van service through the Trek Rides application for the Taman Desa-Jalan Klang Lama and Bangsar LRT station-Taman Bandaraya routes, and the Kummute app for the other two routes.

Previously known as demand responsive transit, Rapid KL on-demand has 20 vans serving nine routes from 6am to 11.30pm, with 2,023 passengers using the service daily.
