PETALING JAYA:
Police have found no criminal elements in the death of a man who was killed after he was hit by a KTM Komuter train near the Klang station yesterday morning.

Klang Selatan police chief Cha Hoong Fong said an autopsy conducted on the man’s body found that he died due to injuries sustained from the incident, reported Bernama.

He said the Klang Selatan police headquarters has opened a sudden death investigation paper as they continue their probe into the case.

Cha said initial investigations found that the train driver heard a loud noise when the train was between Teluk Pulai and Klang at 6.38am yesterday.

Subsequently, a gas leak caused the train to come to a stop.

Upon checking, the train’s driver found the body of a man under the fourth carriage and immediately contacted the police.

Cha said the 45-year-old foreigner was found fully clothed. His right leg was severed.

Yesterday, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd said one person died and four others sustained minor injuries after they were hit by a KTM Komuter train while walking on railway tracks in the morning.

It said a train, which departed from the Jalan Kastam station at 6.39am, was forced to stop after “colliding with the trespassers” at Km34.734, between Teluk Pulai and Klang.

About 200 passengers on the train were affected by the incident and were transported via shuttle buses to the Subang Jaya KTM station.
