Klang Utara police chief S Vijaya Rao said a 15-second video of the incident, uploaded on TikTok, had gone viral.
“The video showed a scuffle between a traffic police officer and a member of the public at Batu Belah, Bukit Raja, Klang,” he said in a statement.
He said early investigations found that the incident happened at a roadblock that was set up by the police at 6pm yesterday.
The man, who was stopped at the roadblock, fled the scene without his motorcycle after a scuffle with the traffic police officer, he added.
He said police seized the motorcycle and the case is being investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant in the discharge of his duties as well as Section 108 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for providing false statements.
Vijaya urged anyone with information on the incident to contact a nearby police station or investigating officer Ahmad Fadzli Abdullah at 017-5843860.
