PETALING JAYA:
Police are monitoring several TikTok accounts with video clips that purportedly offer Indonesians illegal entry into Malaysia via speedboat.

The videos claim that Indonesians can be transported from various parts of Indonesia, such as Surabaya, Lombok and Tanjung Balai, to Malaysia, for between RM1,600 and RM2,900 per person.

They claim to offer transport to Johor, Kelantan, and Selangor, including Port Klang, and also entertain requests from Indonesians in Malaysia seeking to return home.

Many videos are purportedly of Indonesians expressing their gratitude to the organisers for helping them get into Malaysia or return to Indonesia.

Some videos have reached nearly 200,000 views, with multiple comments asking for certain routes and the account holder telling them to send a WhatsApp message to a certain number.

Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan, when contacted, urged those with information on such activities to get in touch with the police via the Volunteer Smartphone Patrol phone application.

“The police are always monitoring information like this to organise operations (to bust the illegal entry of migrants),” he told FMT.
