The man was seen in a video slapping a woman believed to be his wife at a shopping mall.

PETALING JAYA:
A 50-year-old man has been arrested after he was seen in a viral video slapping a woman believed to be his wife at the entrance of a shopping mall in Sepang, Selangor.

Sepang police chief Norhizam Bahaman said the suspect was nabbed in front of a clinic in Kota Warisan at 10am today, Bernama reported.

“The man will be brought to court tomorrow for a remand hearing,” he said, adding that the case is being probed for voluntarily causing hurt and domestic violence.

In the viral video, the woman can be seen walking out of the mall and stopping as she is approached by a man who had a child with him. He then slapped the woman on the face and said something angrily to her before they both left the mall.
