LIVERPOOL:
Everton’s new signing Richarlison is confident he can rediscover the scoring form he showed with Watford in the early part of last season.

The Brazilian forward scored five goals and had four assists in his first 12 league games for Watford but did not find the net in 28 matches in all competitions after that.

“I continued giving everything, putting my life on the line on the pitch and that’s what I’ll continue doing going forward,” Richarlison told British media.

The move to Everton reunited the 21-year-old with former Watford boss Marco Silva. Silva was sacked by Watford in January after the club said an “unwarranted approach” had unsettled him.

Everton had targeted Silva in their quest to replace Dutchman Ronald Koeman in November but were refused permission to approach him and appointed former England manager Sam Allardyce instead.

“There was some difficulty when Marco left but that was more to do with the language… It is not an excuse, any decline in performance wasn’t to do with Marco leaving. It wasn’t just my decline, it was an overall team decline,” Richarlison added.

Everton travel to promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers for their season opener on Saturday.
