Stacy Lewis will captain the 12-member squad against Team Europe in Andalucia, Spain, from Sept 22-24.
The team includes the top seven golfers in the US Solheim Cup standings, with Allisen Corpuz, Megan Khang, Jennifer Kupcho, Danielle Kang, and Andrea Lee joining Vu and Korda.
Lexi Thompson and LPGA Tour rookie Rose Zhang also made the squad as the two highest-ranked Americans in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings who were not in the top seven.
Lewis rounded out the team with three captain’s picks, selecting Ally Ewing, Cheyenne Knight, and Angel Yin to join next month’s action at Finca Cortesin.
“These final days were definitely some of the hardest ones of my career, but I’m so proud to have Ally, Cheyenne, and Angel on the 2023 US Solheim Cup team,” Lewis said.
“These three women earned their spots on this team, putting themselves into contention both with their play on the course and their teamwork off the course. Over the last year and a half, I’ve gotten to know all the US players incredibly well and I’m honoured to be their captain. We are going to have an incredible week at Finca Cortesin.”
This is Thompson’s sixth appearance in the Solheim Cup. Kang will represent the US for the fourth time, with Ewing, Khang, Korda, and Yin appearing on their third teams.
Kupcho will wear the Stars and Stripes for a second time, while Corpuz, Knight, Lee, Vu, and Zhang will play in their first Solheim Cup.
“It’s an honour to be on this team, for me to be with the best players in the world as well as be an athlete that represents her country,” Zhang said. “I can’t wait to go to Spain and tee it up with these amazing girls, and at the same time represent the Red, White, and Blue.”
In 2019, Team Europe earned a 14.5-13.5 victory at Gleneagles in Scotland, a breathtaking win that saw Suzann Pettersen knock in the winning putt on the final hole of the final match.
The US team leads the European team, 10-6, all-time in Solheim Cup competition.
