Speaking at a press conference at the DAP Damansara branch here today, the DAP lawmaker said Pakatan Harapan (PH) could not allow any contest without representation from PH.
“It (three corner fight) is not something that we had hoped for. We had hoped that PAS would not contest but they are, hence we must face up to the battle,” he said.
Pua, however, pointed out that there was still a chance that PH could win in the by-elections as he claimed the BN’s popularity in the two seats was diminishing.
“The UCSI University survey showed that the support for BN had dropped to 44 per cent, but we believe that it is lower than that because a lot of voters don’t dare give true answers.
“There are enough votes that have dropped from BN that will swing to PH. Hopefully enough to beat them.”
He conceded that the by-elections would be difficult “but that’s why we have to give it our all.”
