It is fortunate, the DAP parliamentary leader said, that Harith survived the threat to his stand-up career from politicians who were competing to run him out of his job with their “comic and clownish statements and actions”.
“I had occasion to remark last December that very soon comedians like Harith would have to call it a day because ministers and deputy ministers such as Ahmad Maslan, Abdul Rahman Dahlan, Paul Low and even PM Najib Razak would have taken over their jobs.
“Fortunately, comedians like Harith and Dr Jason Leong have proved to have great resilience and have survived the ‘threats’ from ‘stand-up comedians’ from Parliament and the political arena,” said Lim.
On a serious note, Lim said Harith stood a good chance of winning the final even though he faced stiff challenges from Katerina Vrana (Greece), Mino Van Nassau (India), David Kilimnick (Israel) and Alex Calleja (Philippines).
“Let all Malaysians put aside their differences to root for Harith Iskander’s world success in Helsinki at 8pm tonight (2am Friday in Malaysia)!”
