I won’t entertain an idiot like Husam anymore, says PAS leader

PETALING JAYA:
A Kelantan PAS leader has called the party’s former vice-president Husam Musa a “coward” for avoiding a debate over an oath taken by members pledging not to leave the party.

State exco Nassuruddin Daud said Husam was lying every time he justified breaking the oath.

PAS elected members were required to take a controversial oath in which they promised to divorce their wives if they quit the party.

Nassuruddin claimed that Husam refused to set a date for the debate.

“After I pressured him, Husam’s representative told me the debate could be held on a Saturday night, so I suggested January 28. We had already booked a stadium but Husam did not agree,” he told FMT.

Nassuruddin’s comments come in the wake of chaos after Husam gatecrashed a PAS ceramah event last night, which centred on the Amanah leader’s alleged refusal to participate in a debate.

Husam turned up at the event and sat on stage with other PAS leaders, as Ketereh PAS chief, Wan Ismail Jusoh addressed the crowd.

His presence irked the audience, many of whom verbally abused him. The situation heated up when Amanah supporters were accused of provoking those from PAS which almost saw the two groups trading blows.

Husam left the scene five minutes later along with his supporters, saying he was disappointed that he was not allowed to speak.

But Nassuruddin argued that the event was not a debate and accused Husam of not having decorum by turning up uninvited.

Responding to Husam’s supposed readiness to debate, Nassuruddin said he would no longer entertain him.

“I waited three months for Husam. I cancelled plans to perform my umrah with my two children in January just to debate with Husam. Enough is enough.

“I will not entertain an idiot like him again.”

Amanah was formed by PAS leaders who were booted out in the party elections in 2015, following the rise of the conservative faction..
