
He said this was because information on the allegation was vague.
“There were no elements which can prompt an investigation,” Low, who is in charge of governance, integrity and human rights, said in a written reply.
Hanipa Maidin (Amanah-Sepang) had earlier asked if the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) would probe a claim by Sarawak Report that the Islamist party had received RM90 million from Najib Razak (Pekan-Barisan Nasional).
The whistleblower site said the money had been deposited into the bank accounts of top PAS leaders, and was one of Najib’s attempts to “woo” PAS into supporting Barisan Nasional and Umno.
PAS has denied the allegation and, in a letter of demand to Sarawak Report last December, demanded that the portal issue an apology.
However, PAS has yet to formally file a suit against Sarawak Report.
Last month, the Islamist party filed a suit against Kelantan Amanah adviser Husam Musa, who had made a similar accusation.
