
“The MACC officers requested our assistance in providing information relating to their investigation, and we are cooperating fully with them at this time to provide all required support and information to assist the investigation,” said its country managing partner Tan Theng Hooi.
“As a responsible organisation, we will cooperate with the MACC and all other authorities in accordance with the provisions of the law,” he said in a statement.
He said contrary to media reports, the company’s office was not raided and Deloitte Malaysia is not under investigation with respect to the probe on FIC’s London hotel purchase or any other matters.
The MACC had earlier opened an investigation paper on the FIC’s purchase of a hotel in Kensington, London, between 2013 and 2015, allegedly at a much higher price than the original, causing the Felda subsidiary to suffer millions of ringgit in losses.
FIC reportedly acquired the four-star hotel for £60 million (RM330 million) on Dec 16, 2014.
