PETALING JAYA:
Religious authorities detained two men in Johor yesterday for allegedly engaging in inappropriate behaviour in a parked car.

The Johor Islamic religious department said enforcement officers “observed two men engaging in suspicious acts”, Harian Metro reported.

The pair, a Malaysian in his 30s and a Pakistani in his 20s, were arrested at about 6pm after the officers inspected the vehicle, which was believed to have broken down.

The officers noticed that the engine was running while the car was said to be “rocking”.

The two men had met online and known each other for a week, the department said. “They arranged to meet in the car as they did not want to rent a room,” it said.

The two men stated that the encounter was consensual and did not involve any payment.
