Ampang LRT line resumes normal operations after power outage

Rapid Rail says the line may take some time to fully recover.

PETALING JAYA:
The Ampang/Sri Petaling LRT line has resumed normal operations after a power outage between the Awan Besar and Sri Petaling stations around 11.38am today.

Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd said the line resumed operating as usual at 5.52pm while train frequency is being adjusted in stages. It added that the line might take some time to fully recover.

“The operations team will continue monitoring the situation to ensure smooth services. As a precautionary measure, auxiliary policemen and station officers have been deployed to ensure smooth flow of passengers at the stations.

“Rapid Rail apologises for the inconvenience caused and appreciates the patience and cooperation of all users,” it said in a statement.

Alternative train services and free shuttle buses were provided to connect affected stations after the power outage this morning which forced passengers between the Bandar Tasik Selatan and Awan Besar stations to wait longer for trains.

The operations team had also immediately deployed staff to conduct repair works.
