Rodziah said she would continue to serve her constituents as she would never betray the mandate entrusted by her voters in Ampang.
She said holding differing views or raising questions should not be misconstrued as disloyalty or betrayal, adding that a mature democracy demands managing differences with wisdom.
“What is more important right now is ensuring the preservation of the country’s political stability so that (the government) can focus on protecting the economy, restoring public confidence, and ensuring the people’s welfare isn’t neglected due to prolonged political tensions,” she said in a Facebook post.
Earlier, Ampang PKR deputy chief Daing Reduan Bachok urged Rodziah to vacate her parliamentary seat, after she attended yesterday’s event in which Rafizi announced that he was joining Bersama.
Rodziah was joined by five other PKR MPs at the event – Bakhtiar Wan Chik (Balik Pulau), Wong Chen (Subang), S Kesavan (Sungai Siput), Zahir Hassan (Wangsa Maju) and Lee Chean Chung (Petaling Jaya).
Rafizi and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad had announced that they would be taking over Bersama to chart a new political direction for themselves and their supporters.
